Installation [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install a new gasket and the engine water pump with the 8 bolts shown in the illustration.

      • Bolt A

      Torque: 47 N.m (479 kgf/cm, 35 ft.lbf) 

      • Bolt B

      Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf/cm, 17 ft.lbf) 

      • Bolt C

      Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf/cm, 16 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL WATER PUMP PULLEY 
    1. Temporarily install the pulley with the 4 bolts.

      *a Protective Tape
      *b Hold
      *c Turn
    2. Using a screwdriver or equivalent with its tip wrapped in protective tape, hold the water pump pulley and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 16 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL INLET WATER HOUSING 
    1. Install a new gasket to the water pump.

      *1 Gasket
    2. Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose to the inlet water housing.

      *a Front
    3. Install the inlet water housing with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 16 ft.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Install the hose so that the direction of the hose clamp is as indicated in the illustration.

  4. CONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  5. INSTALL AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  4

  6. CONNECT NO. 2 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE 

    See step  5

  7. CONNECT NO. 3 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE 

    See step  6

  8. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE (w/ Trailer Towing System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 1 water by-pass hose to the water by-pass joint and water inlet housing.
  10. INSTALL FAN SHROUD 

    See step  7

  11. INSTALL INLET RADIATOR HOSE 

    See step  8

  12. CONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE 

    See step  9

  13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY

    *b RH
    1. Connect the air cleaner hose and tighten clamp.

      Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

    2. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose with the clamp.

      HINT: 

      Install the hose so that the direction of the hose clamp is as indicated in the illustration.

    3. Connect the vacuum hose.
  14. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach grommet to air cleaner before mounting the air cleaner.

      *A for Type A
      *B for Type B
      *1 Grommet
    2. Insert the air cleaner into the fender apron hole, and fully insert pin to grommet.
    3. Install the air cleaner with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf) 

    4. Connect the connector and install the clamp and wire harness.
    5. Connect the air cleaner hose and tighten the clamp.

      Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

  15. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    See step  3

  16. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  17. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2021 - ]

  18. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
