Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  2. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  3. REMOVE FAN SHROUD 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

  4. REMOVE NO. 9 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the 2 clamps and remove the No. 9 water by-pass hose from the separator case and front water by-pass joint.

      *1 No. 9 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 10 Water By-pass Hose
  5. REMOVE NO. 10 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the 2 clamps and remove the No. 10 water by-pass hose from the separator case and front water by-pass joint.
  6. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the 2 clamps and remove the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the front water by-pass joint and water inlet housing.

      *2 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
  7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the water by-pass joint.
  8. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE (w/ Trailer Towing System) 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the water by-pass pipe hose.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

    1. Remove the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
  10. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE CLAMP 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tube clamp from the bracket.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

    1. Remove the No. 1 engine cover.
  12. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT 
    1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
    2. Remove the 4 nuts, front water by-pass joint and 2 gaskets.

  13. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 3 water by-pass pipe is necessary.

    1. Remove the bolt and No. 3 water by-pass pipe.
  14. REMOVE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 2 air injection system hose and No. 3 air injection system hose.

      *1 No. 2 air injection system hose
      *2 No. 3 air injection system hose
    2. Disconnect the electric air control valve connector.
    3. Disconnect the electric air control valve connector clamp holder.
    4. Using a clip remover, detach the wire harness claw.
    5. Remove the 2 bolts and air pipe.

    6. Disconnect the 2 No. 1 air hoses from the electric air control valve assembly.
  15. REMOVE ELECTRIC AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and bracket.
    3. Disconnect the 2 electric air control valve connectors.
    4. Remove the 3 bolts and electric air control valve assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, No. 2 air tube and gasket.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the installation surface of the gaskets.

  17. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, No. 3 air tube and gasket.
