DTC B1500: Fuel Sender Open Detected [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream ON.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
   COMBINATION METER

   OK

   Fuel value displayed on the Techstream is almost same as needle indication.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

(Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

NG

1. Disconnect the H37 meter connector.

2. Disconnect the Q1 gauge connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   H37-12 (L) - Q1-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   H37-39 (E3) - Q1-3	Always	Below 1 Ω
   H37-40 (E1) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω
   H37-12 (L) or Q1-2 - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge.

   HINT: 

   • for 3UR-FE (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
   • for 3UR-FBE (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2018] ).
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   2 - 3	Float level is F (upper)	12 to 18 Ω
   	Float level is E (lower)	405 to 415 Ω
