Installation [08/2017 - ]: Procedure

INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a new brake master cylinder seal.
Install the brake master cylinder seal onto the brake master cylinder.

Install the brake master cylinder with 2 new nuts.

Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf/cm, 18 ft.lbf)

CONNECT FRONT NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

Using a union nut wrench, connect the brake tube (labeled A) to the brake master cylinder.

Specified tightening torque

Torque: 19.5 N.m (199 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf)

HINT:

Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 20 mm (0.787 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.087 in.)): 17.6 N.m (179 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf)

CONNECT REAR NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

Using a union nut wrench, connect the brake tube (labeled B) to the brake master cylinder.

Specified tightening torque

Torque: 19.5 N.m (199 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf)

HINT:

Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

CONNECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH CONNECTOR
1. Connect the brake fluid level warning switch connector.
