Removal [08/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to

    PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to

    PRECAUTION [08/2019 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to

    INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to

    INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019] , or refer to

    INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - ]

  3. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE:

    Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

  4. DISCONNECT BRAKE TUBE 
    1. Use tags or make a note to identify the reconnection locations.

      HINT: 

      • *1: FR RH
      • *2: FR LH
      • *3: RR RH
      • *4: RR LH
      • *5: FR Master Cylinder
      • *6: RR Master Cylinder
    2. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator assembly

      Detach the clamp.

    4. Detach the 4 claws and disconnect the 2 No. 2 brake tube clamps.

  5. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2017 - ] ).
  6. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the check valve.
  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  4

  9. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN 
    1. Remove the clip and push rod pin.
  10. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts, and then pull out the brake booster.

    2. Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster.
    3. Loosen the lock nut and then remove the clevis.
  11. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY
