DTC B2251: Back Door Closer Switch Malfunction [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HALF LATCH SW)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Data List /
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.BACK DOOR (POWER BACK DOOR ECU)
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Half Latch SW Latch switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Back door lock motor is open-latch or over-latch
OFF: Back door lock motor is full-latch or half-latch- OK
The display is as specified in the normal condition.

- Disconnect the V2 back door ECU connector.
- Disconnect the O30 power back door ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition V2-17 (OCTY) - O30-20 (FUL) Always Below 1 Ω V2-17 (OCTY) or O30-20 (FUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the back door ECU connector.
- Reconnect the power back door ECU connector.

- READ VALUE USING BACK DOOR ECU (BACK DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)

- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door P/W / Data List /
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.BACK DOOR P/W (BACK DOOR ECU)

- Disconnect the V5 door lock connector.
- Disconnect the V2 and V3 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition V5-6 (S) - V3-10 (BDCY) Always Below 1 Ω V5-3 (E) - V3-20 (CTYE) Always Below 1 Ω V2-6 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω V5-6 (S) or V3-10 (BDCY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the door lock and ECU connector.

- Temporarily replace the power back door drive unit with a new or normally functioning one (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).
