Sound Signal Circuit between Headphone Terminal and Television Display [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HEADPHONES 
    1. Check the malfunctioning headphones.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Malfunction in headphone terminal RH side A
      Malfunction in headphone terminal LH side B

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY - HEADPHONE TERMINAL RH) 
    1. Disconnect the U13 television display assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S7 headphone terminal RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U13-26 (HP2R) - S7-1 (HP2R) Always Below 1 Ω
      U13-28 (HP2L) - S7-2 (HP2L) Always Below 1 Ω
      U13-27 (SLD6) - S7-3 (SG8) Always Below 1 Ω
      U13-26 (HP2R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U13-28 (HP2L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U13-27 (SLD6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the television display assembly connector still connected (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions as shown in the table below.

      Standard

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U13-26 (HP2R) - Body ground Audio sound being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      U13-28 (HP2L) - Body ground
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY - HEADPHONE TERMINAL LH) 
    1. Disconnect the U13 television display assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S8 headphone terminal LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U13-12 (HP1R) - S8-1 (HP1R) Always Below 1 Ω
      U13-14 (HP1L) - S8-2 (HP1L) Always Below 1 Ω
      U13-13 (SLD5) - S8-3 (SG7) Always Below 1 Ω
      U13-12 (HP1R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U13-14 (HP1L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U13-13 (SLD5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the television display assembly connector still connected (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).

    2. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions as shown in the table below.

      Standard

      U13-12 (HP1R) - Body ground Audio sound being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      U13-14 (HP1L) - Body ground
