Parking Brake Switch Circuit [08/2017 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2017 - 08/2019]

  2. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the parking brake switch assembly.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the parking brake switch assembly.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [08/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [08/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH - PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. *1: w/ Navigation System
    2. *2: w/o Navigation System
    1. Disconnect the 3H cowl side junction block LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A62 parking brake switch assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the H158 navigation receiver assembly connector.*1
    4. Disconnect the H159 radio and display receiver assembly connector.*2
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3H-18 - A62-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      3H-18 or A62-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH 
    1. Remove the cowl side junction block LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2017 - 08/2019]

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Cowl Side Junction Block LH)
    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the cowl side junction block LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2017 - 08/2019]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3H-18 - A-12 (PKB) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2017 - 08/2019] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2017 - 08/2019]
