High Beam Headlight Circuit [10/2023 - 11/2024]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

      High Beam Headlight High beam headlights OFF or ON -

      High beam headlights illuminate.

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

  4. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check the vehicle type.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the DIM relay.
    2. Disconnect the A62 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A61 headlight assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (DIM relay) - A62-4 (HI) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (DIM relay) or A62-4 (HI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (DIM relay) or A61-4 (HI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. INSPECT DIM RELAY 
    1. Remove the DIM relay.
    2. Inspect the DIM relay.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [02/2019 - ]

    REPLACE DIM RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - DIM RELAY) 
    1. Remove the DIM relay.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (DIM relay) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V
      5 (DIM relay) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Remove the DIM relay.
    2. Disconnect the G44 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (DIM relay) - G44-13 (DIM) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (DIM relay) or G44-13 (DIM) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. *1: Turn Light for LED Type
    2. *2: Turn Light for Bulb Type
    1. Remove the DIM relay.
    2. Disconnect the A98*1 or A99*2 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A96*1 or A97*2 headlight assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      TURN LIGHT FOR LED TYPE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (DIM relay) - A98-6 (HI) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (DIM relay) or A98-6 (HI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TURN LIGHT FOR BULB TYPE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (DIM relay) - A99-5 (HI) Always Below 1 Ω
      3 (DIM relay) or A99-5 (HI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
