Removal [02/2019 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2018 - ]

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE BATTERY HOLE COVER (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2019 - 10/2019]

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23

  12. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG PRESSURE SENSOR LH 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the side airbag pressure sensor. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal is disconnected before performing this procedure.

    3. Remove the nut.

    4. Detach the claw and pull out the side airbag pressure sensor LH.
      NOTE:

      If the side airbag pressure sensor LH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

    5. Disconnect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the housing lock and slide the CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

        *c CPA Upper Part *d Connector Lock is Released
      2. Push the housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.

      3. After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.
