Removal [11/2018 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

- REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU
- Disconnect the 5 connectors.
- Disengage the claws and pull down the lock lever to disconnect the 2 connectors as shown in the illustration.
Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2) - Remove the nut and bolt.
- Pull out the instrument panel junction block assembly with main body ECU.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claws to separate instrument wire harness.
*a Protective Tape - Disengage the claw and raise the lock lever to disconnect the connector as shown in the illustration.
Remove in this Direction - Disengage the claw and raise the lock lever to disconnect the connector as shown in the illustration and remove the instrument panel junction block assembly with main body ECU.
Remove in this Direction
- Disconnect the 5 connectors.
- REMOVE JUNCTION BLOCK BRACKET (for Upper Side)
- REMOVE JUNCTION BLOCK BRACKET (for Lower Side)
- REMOVE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
- Press the claw of the instrument panel junction block assembly as shown in the illustration to release the lock.
*1 Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly *2 Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) *a Protective Tape Disengage in this Direction Insert in this Direction - With the instrument panel junction block assembly lock released, insert a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape horizontally between the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and instrument panel junction block assembly.NOTE:
Use a screwdriver with a diameter between 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) and 6.3 mm (0.248 in.) and a length of approximately 90 mm (3.54 in.).
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, carefully raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) to the position where the connector becomes disconnected.NOTE:
- Do not twist the screwdriver to raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
- Do not damage the connector
*a Protective Tape Connector Remove in this Direction - Raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) as shown by the arrow (1), and then pull it out as shown by the arrow (2) in the illustration.NOTE:
Do not touch the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
- Press the claw of the instrument panel junction block assembly as shown in the illustration to release the lock.
