DTC B1570: Manual (SOS) Switch Red Indicator Malfunction [06/2015 - 01/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs.

      Refer to HEALTH CHECK [06/2015 - 01/2018]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1570, B1571 and B15C5 are output A
      DTC B1570 is output
      (DTC B1571 and B15C5 are not output)

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (RED INDICATOR) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 6 (IND1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 9 (GND3) of the map light assembly connector.
    4. Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch red indicator comes on.

      OK

      Red indicator comes on.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G55 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the W8 and W9 map light assembly connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G55-26 (SIG-) - W8-32 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G55-26 (SIG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W8-32 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G55-11 (IND1) - W9-4 (IND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G55-11 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W9-4 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - 01/2018]

      NOTE:
      • The power switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

  5. PERFORM PRL UPDATE 
    1. Perform "PRL UPDATE".

      Refer to PRL UPDATE [06/2015 - 01/2018]

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [06/2015 - 01/2018] 

  6. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH RED INDICATOR CONDITION) 
    1. Confirm the red indicator status after the power switch is turned on (IG).

      Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [06/2015 - 01/2018]

      Result

      Red indicator remains off A
      Red indicator remains on B

  7. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (RED INDICATOR INPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal W9-4 (IND1), and the negative lead to terminal W8-32 (GND3).
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG).

      0 V when the power switch is off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

  8. CHECK DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (RED INDICATOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - 01/2018]

      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))
    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal G55-11 (IND1), and the negative lead to body ground.
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG).

      0 V when the power switch is off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    NG

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - 01/2018]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
