DTC U0293: EV ECU Communication [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure

  1. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT 

    Body Electrical > Gateway > Trouble Codes 

    1. Reconfirm DTCs.

      HINT: 

      If DTC U1002 is output from Gateway of the network gateway ECU, this indicates a sub bus 2 malfunction. Troubleshoot for DTC U1002 and check for malfunctions in sub bus 2.

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC U1002: Lost Communication with Gateway Module (Network Gateway ECU) [06/2015 - 11/2018]

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN SUB BUS 2 LINES (EV CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the EV control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G45-34 (CA2H) - G45-35 (CA2L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (EV CONTROL ECU) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL) 
    1. Disconnect the EV control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G45-5 (E01) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      G45-6 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      G46-4 (E12) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      G46-5 (E02) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the EV control ECU connector.
    4. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A28-1 (+B2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A27-4 (+B1) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A28-3 (IG2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    REPLACE EV CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - 11/2018]
