ACIS Control Circuit [12/2013 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (OPERATE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE FOR ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM)

    *a Port F
    *b Port E
    *c Air Filter
    *d Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly is ON
    *e Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly is OFF
    *f Air
    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from port F of the vacuum switching valve assembly (for acoustic control induction system).
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Start the engine.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Active the VSV for Intake Control.

      Powertrain > Engine > Active Test 

      Tester Display
      Activate the VSV for Intake Control
    5. Operate the vacuum switching valve assembly for acoustic control induction system.
    6. Check the vacuum switching valve assembly air flow when switching the vacuum switching valve assembly.

      OK

      Activate the VSV for Intake Control Specified Condition
      ON Air from port E flows out through port F
      OFF Air from port E flows out through air filter

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG

    Result:  1

    OK

  2. CHECK VACUUM HOSES (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (FOR ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM) - INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE, INTAKE MANIFOLD) 
    1. Check the vacuum hoses.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE VACUUM HOSES 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD (INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE) 
    1. Inspect the intake air control valve (for acoustic control induction system).

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE INTAKE MANIFOLD. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

  4. INSPECT VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (FOR ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM) 
    1. Inspect the vacuum switching valve assembly (for acoustic control induction system).

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (FOR ACOUSTIC CONTROL INDUCTION SYSTEM). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  5. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY)

    (to Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly (for Acoustic Control Induction System))
    1. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly connector (for acoustic control induction system).
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C10-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C10-1 - C1-69 (ACIS) Always Below 1 Ω
      C10-1 or C1-69 (ACIS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU - VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1G-7 - C10-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-7 or C10-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
