Installation [12/2013 - 11/2015]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (for Intake Side) 
    1. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt for the camshaft position sensor.

      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.

    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the camshaft position sensor.

    3. Install the camshaft position sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If the camshaft position sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.
    4. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.
  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (for Exhaust Side) 
    1. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolt for the camshaft position sensor.

      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.

    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the camshaft position sensor.

    3. Install the camshaft position sensor to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If the camshaft position sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.
    4. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.
  3. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67
