Distance Control Switch Circuit [12/2013 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MODE CHANGE SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
    5. Check the Data List to confirm function of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List

      MODE Change Switch Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch signal ON or OFF ON: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch on
      OFF: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch off

      OK

      The display changes in accordance with switch operation.

    6. Turn the engine switch off.

    Result:  1

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2013 - 11/2016]

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - 11/2016]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - 11/2016]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F61 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F84 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F61-12 (DIST) - F84-6 (SPSW) Always 3 Ω or less

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F61-12 (DIST) or F84-6 (SPSW) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the F84 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the F61 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:  2

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Result:  1

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F61 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F61-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always 3 Ω or less
    3. Reconnect the F61 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
