DTC C1436: Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Select the Data List using the Techstream.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [11/2016 - ] .

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Data List

      Yaw Rate Sensor
    4. Check the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) output value displayed on the Techstream.
      NOTE:

Check the yaw rate and acceleration sensor signal after replacement.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or TEST MODE PROCEDURE [11/2016 - ] .

      HINT:

If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing parts.

      Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2016 - ] .

    Result Proceed to
NG (The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) output value is 0°/s when the vehicle is stationary, but the value fluctuates when turning.) A
NG (The yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) output value is not 0°/s when the vehicle is stationary.) B
    OK C

    Result:

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY.

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

    Result:

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK:

    Result:

    Go to next step

  2. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or INSTALLATION [11/2016 - ] .

      OK

The sensor is tightened to the specified torque.

The sensor is not installed in a tilted position.
