DTC B1571: Manual (SOS) Switch Green Indicator Malfunction [12/2013 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK DTC
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs.

- INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (GREEN INDICATOR)
- Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.
*a Component without harness connected
(Map Light Assembly) - Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
- Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 21 (IND2) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 19 (GND3) of the map light assembly connector.
- Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch green indicator comes on.
OK
Green indicator comes on.

- Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the F35 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
- Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

NOTE:- The engine switch must be off.
- Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

- Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).
- PERFORM PRL UPDATE
- Perform "PRL UPDATE".

NEXT
PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to DCM ACTIVATION [12/2013 - ]
- Perform "PRL UPDATE".
- CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH GREEN INDICATOR CONDITION)
- Confirm the green indicator status after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

- INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (GREEN INDICATOR INPUT VOLTAGE)
- Remove the map light assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

- Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal S1-21 (IND2), and the negative lead to terminal S1-19 (GND3).
- Measure the voltage.
Standard
1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG) and red indicator has turned off.
0 V when the engine switch is off.

- Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

- Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal F35-12 (IND2), and the negative lead to body ground.
- Measure the voltage.

0 V when the engine switch is off.
