DTC B1571: Manual (SOS) Switch Green Indicator Malfunction [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

1. Turn the engine switch off.
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
4. Turn the Techstream on.
5. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs.

   Refer to HEALTH CHECK [12/2013 - ]

   Result

1. Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.

   *a	Component without harness connected (Map Light Assembly)

2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 21 (IND2) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 19 (GND3) of the map light assembly connector.
4. Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch green indicator comes on.

   OK

   Green indicator comes on.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

1. Disconnect the F35 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
2. Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   F35-26 (SIG-) - S1-19 (GND3)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   F35-26 (SIG-) or S1-19 (GND3) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

   NOTE:

   • The engine switch must be off.
   • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

NEXT 

1. Perform "PRL UPDATE".

   Refer to PRL UPDATE [12/2013 - ]

PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [12/2013 - ] 

1. Confirm the green indicator status after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

   Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [12/2013 - ]

1. Remove the map light assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal S1-21 (IND2), and the negative lead to terminal S1-19 (GND3).
3. Measure the voltage.

   Standard

   1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG) and red indicator has turned off.

   0 V when the engine switch is off.

   Result

   Proceed to

3. Measure the voltage.

   Standard

   1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG) and red indicator has turned off.

   0 V when the engine switch is off.

   Result
