DTC P0102: Mass Air Flow Circuit Low; DTC P0103: Mass Air Flow Circuit High [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY)

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to Mass Air Flow Meter Sub-assembly)
    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C60-3 (5V) - C60-2 (E2G) Power switch on (IG) 4.8 to 5.2 V
      C60-1 (FG) - C60-2 (E2G) Power switch on (IG) 4.8 to 5.2 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. REPLACE MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2016 - ]

    NEXT 

    See step  3

  3. CHECK IF DTC OUTPUT RECURS (SEE IF DTC P0102 OR P0103 IS OUTPUT AGAIN) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
    3. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs 

    4. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    5. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
    6. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in the Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    8. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0102 or P0103 is output A
      DTCs are not output B

    Result: 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C60-3 (5V) - C1-99 (VCVG) Always Below 1 Ω
      C60-1 (FG) - C1-128 (VG) Always Below 1 Ω
      C60-2 (E2G) - C1-96 (E2G) Always Below 1 Ω
      C60-3 (5V) or C1-99 (VCVG) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C60-1 (FG) or C1-128 (VG) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C60-2 (E2G) or C1-96 (E2G) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]
