DTC B1572: Telephone Microphone Error [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs.

      Refer to HEALTH CHECK [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1572 is output A
      DTC B1572 is not output B

    Result:  2

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2013 - 11/2016]  Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

      (Map Light Assembly)
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S1-3 (MACC) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S1-4 (MCO-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F35 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F35-34 (MCI+) - S1-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F35-34 (MCI+) or S1-2 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F35-35 (MCI-) - S1-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F35-35 (MCI-) or S1-4 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F35-32 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      *a Component with harness connected
      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F35-33 (MCVD) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F35-35 (MCI-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  2

    NG

  5. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    NEXT 

  6. PERFORM PRL UPDATE 
    1. Perform "PRL UPDATE".

      Refer to PRL UPDATE [12/2013 - ]

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [12/2013 - ]
