DTC P0504: Brake Switch "A" / "B" Correlation [12/2012 - 10/2015]: Procedure
- CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the stop light switch assembly connector.

(to Stop Light Switch Assembly) - Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A5-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
Result:
OK

- Disconnect the stop light switch assembly connector.
- CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the stop light switch assembly connector.

(to Stop Light Switch Assembly) - Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A5-4 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

- Disconnect the ECM connector.

- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM)
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG2 RELAY - STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
- Disconnect the stop light switch assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition IG2 relay terminal 5 - A5-4 Always Below 1 Ω IG2 relay terminal 5 or A5-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
