Removal [12/2012 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2012 - ]

    NOTE:
    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2012 - ]

    • If the side airbag has deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly LH, separate type front seatback spring assembly LH, separate type front seatback pad and separate type front seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.
    • If the cushion airbag has deployed, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH, separate type front seat cushion spring assembly RH, separate type front seat cushion pad and separate type front seat cushion cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2012 - 10/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 08/2016]

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly.
  4. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the rearmost position.
    2. Detach the 2 claws to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Detach the 2 claws to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  6. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the foremost position.
    2. Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear outer seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear inner seat track bracket cover LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the rearmost position.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts.

    4. Operate the seat track adjusting handle to move the seat to the center position and operate the reclining adjusting handle to move the seatback to the upright position.
    5. for Driver Side:

      1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector of the front seat inner belt assembly LH.
      2. Disconnect the connector of the front seat airbag assembly LH.

        Place a finger on the slider, slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the front seat side airbag connector.

    6. for Front Passenger Side:

      *A w/ Seat Heater System
      1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector of the front seat inner belt assembly RH.
      2. w/ Seat Heater System:

        Disconnect the connector of the seat heater.

      3. Disconnect the connector of the front seat airbag assembly RH and connector of the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH.

        Place a finger on the slider, slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the front seat airbag connector.

    7. Remove the front seat assembly LH from the vehicle.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
