Removal [12/2012 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:

NOTE:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH WARNING:
When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly LH, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- Check that the ignition switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock and disconnect the curtain shield airbag connector.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
*1 Protective Tape *2 Connector Lock - Remove the 7 clips.
HINT:
- Using needle-nose pliers, release the lock by pinching the 2 locks of the pin, and pull out the pin from the clip.
- Using 2 screwdrivers, detach the 2 claws by inserting the screwdrivers into the grooves of the clip as shown in the illustration, and then remove the clip from the vehicle body.
- Detach the 4 claws.
- Remove the 2 bolts and curtain shield airbag assembly LH.NOTE:
The bolts must not be reused.
