DTC P3107-64: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module Signal Plausibility Failure [11/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2018 - 08/2019] 

    Result:

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the power switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      P3107-64 is not output A
      P3107-64 is output B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

    REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 08/2019]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

  5. CHECK AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM) 
    1. Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag ECU assembly terminals specified in the table below.
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Measure the waveform.

    4. Turn the power switch off.

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      HINT: 

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [11/2015 -]

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the F56 airbag ECU assembly connector.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the F56 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector and the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
