DTC P060A-94: Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module Monitoring Processor Unexpected Operation [12/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MOTOR GENERATOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Motor Generator / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Motor Generator > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B
      Malfunction Content Relevant DTC
      Sensor and actuator circuit malfunction P0A3F-16 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Voltage Below Threshold
      P0A3F-21 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Signal Amplitude < Minimum
      P0A3F-22 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Signal Amplitude > Maximum

      HINT: 

      • P060A-94 may be output as a result of the malfunction indicated by the DTCs above.
        1. The chart above is listed in inspection order of priority.
        2. Check DTCs that are output at the same time by following the listed order. (The main cause of the malfunction can be determined without performing unnecessary inspections.)
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (MOTOR GENERATOR CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2018 - ]

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ABS/VSC/TRAC) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B
      Relevant DTC
      C1401 Malfunction in Front Speed Sensor RH Circuit
      C1402 Malfunction in Front Speed Sensor LH Circuit
      C1405 Open or Short in Front Speed Sensor RH Circuit
      C1406 Open or Short in Front Speed Sensor LH Circuit
      C1413 Front Speed Sensor RH Circuit Output
      C1414 Front Speed Sensor LH Circuit Output

      HINT: 

      • P060A-94 may be output as a result of the malfunction indicated by the DTCs above.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    GO TO DTC CHART (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - ]

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only P060A-94 is output A
      Other than above B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - 06/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2021 - ] 

    Result:

  4. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Read the freeze frame data of DTC P060A-94.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > DTC(P060A-94) > Freeze Frame Data 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Speed
      FR Wheel Speed
      FL Wheel Speed

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Vehicle was stopped ("FR Wheel Speed" and "FL Wheel Speed" are between 0 and 1.4 km/h (0 and 1 mph)) but "Vehicle Speed" was 3 km/h (2 mph) or more A
      Vehicle was stopped ("FR Wheel Speed" and "FL Wheel Speed" are between 0 and 1.4 km/h (0 and 1 mph)) and "Vehicle Speed" was less than 3 km/h (2 mph) B
    4. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO MOTOR RESOLVER CIRCUIT 

    For the inspection method of the motor resolver circuit, refer to DTC P0A3F-16.

    Refer to DTC P0A3F-16: Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Voltage Below Threshold; DTC P0A3F-1F: Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent [12/2018 - ]

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ]
