DTC P0A81-00: Hybrid/EV Battery Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit High; DTC P0A81-15: Hybrid/EV Battery Cooling Fan 1 Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery or Open [12/2018 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      "P0AFC-00 or P0AFC-96" is not output. A
      "P0AFC-00 or P0AFC-96" is also output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - 06/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2021 -] 

    Result: 

    A

  2. CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR (FREQUENCY)

    Result Proceed to
    Difference between the value in the Data List (Hybrid Battery Cooling Fan 1 Frequency) and the actual measured value at the battery voltage sensor connector is 10% or less. A
    Other than above B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE BATTERY COOLING BLOWER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 -]

    B 

    REPLACE BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -]
