Vehicle Proximity Notification System Warning Message Display Malfunction [04/2018 - 08/2020]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the G38 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   G38-10 (IND) - Body ground	Power switch on (IG)	11 to 14 V

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

1. Turn the power switch off.
2. Connect SST to terminal G38-10 (IND) and body ground.
   • SST: 09843-18040 
3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
4. Check the combination meter assembly display.

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   "Proximity Notification System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" displayed on multi-information display	A
   "Proximity Notification System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" not displayed on multi-information display	B

REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020]

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020] 

1. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   G38-10 (IND) - G16-8 (IND)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   G38-10 (IND) or G16-8 (IND) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020]
