Removal [11/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2015 - 06/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - ] ).

  2. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEELS 
  4. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE:

    Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

  5. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  6. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  7. SEPARATE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH 
    1. Remove the nut and separate the skid control sensor wire LH.

  8. SEPARATE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  9. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, separate the brake tube while holding the rear flexible hose LH with a wrench.

      NOTE:
      • Do not bend or damage the brake line.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake line from the connecting points.
    2. Remove the clip and separate the rear flexible hose LH from the rear axle beam assembly.
  10. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  11. LOOSEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the 2 bolts.

      *A LH Side
      *B RH Side
      NOTE:

      Do not remove the 2 bolts.

  12. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING LH 
    NOTE:

    Make sure to place an identification mark on the rear coil spring LH and rear coil spring RH so that they can be reinstalled to their original positions.

    1. Support the spring seat of the rear axle beam assembly using 2 jacks and 2 wooden blocks.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts while holding the 2 nuts and separate the rear axle beam assembly from the rear shock absorber assemblies LH and RH.
      NOTE:

      Since stopper nuts are used, turn the bolts.

    3. Slowly lower the rear axle beam assembly using 2 jacks and 2 wooden blocks, and remove the rear coil spring LH.
    4. Slowly jack up the rear axle beam assembly using 2 jacks and 2 wooden blocks, and temporarily tighten the rear axle beam assembly to the rear shock absorber assemblies LH and RH with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
      NOTE:

      Since stopper nuts are used, turn the bolts.

  13. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR LH 
  15. REMOVE REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR RH 
  16. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR LH 
  17. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR RH
