Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [11/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the G58 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      G58-25 (CA1H) - G58-24 (CA1L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND TERMINAL) 
    1. Reconnect the G58 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the G57 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      G57-6 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GROUND TERMINAL) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL) 
    1. Reconnect the G57 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Value
      A39-4 (+B1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A38-1 (+B2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL)
