DTC P2004: Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open (Bank 1); DTC P2006: Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed (Bank 1) [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
5. Read the DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC P2004 or P2006 is output	A
   DTC P2004 or P2006 and other DTCs are output	B

   HINT: 

   If any DTCs other than P2004 or P2006 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

Result: 

B 

GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - 10/2017]  , or  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - ]  . 

Result: 

A 

Go to next step 

1. Inspect the intake air control valve actuator (for tumble control valve).

   Refer to INSPECTION [12/2013 - ] .

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR (FOR TUMBLE CONTROL VALVE). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]  . 

Result: 

OK 

Go to next step 

1. Inspect the intake manifold for the tumble control valve operation.

   Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 .

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE INTAKE MANIFOLD. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]  . 

Result: 

OK 

Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
2. Disconnect the intake air control valve actuator connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   Z4-4 (M-) - C1-21 (IA1-)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   Z4-5 (M+) - C1-22 (IA1+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   Z4-4 (M-) or C1-21 (IA1-) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   Z4-5 (M+) or C1-22 (IA1+) - body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK 

Go to next step 

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Clear the DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs 

5. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
7. Turn the Techstream on.
8. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
10. Read the DTCs.

    Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

    Result	Proceed to
    DTC P2004 or P2006 is output	A
    DTCs are not output	B

Result: 

A 

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]  .
