DTC P107B: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "B" Circuit Range/Performance [11/2016 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P107B, P008A OR P008B) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs and record the Freeze Frame Data.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes 

      Result

  2. READ FREEZE FRAME DATA (LOW FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Read the Freeze Frame Data value from step 1.

      Result

      Low Fuel Pressure Sensor value is 540 to 770 kPa (gauge) [78.3 to 112 psi (gauge)] A

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LOW FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Utility

    5. Start the engine.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Low Fuel Pressure Sensor.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List

      Low Fuel Pressure Sensor
    7. Record the Low Fuel Pressure Sensor value.
    8. Turn the power switch off.
    9. Discharge the fuel pressure.

      HINT: 

      DTCs may be stored during this inspection. Check for DTCs and clear them using the Techstream.

      1. Remove the FUEL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
      2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
      3. Turn the Techstream on.
      4. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

      5. Start the engine.
      6. After the engine has stopped on its own, turn the power switch off.
      7. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      9. Crank the engine again and make sure that the engine does not start.
      10. Install the FUEL PMP fuse.

    13. Compare the Low Fuel Pressure Sensor value recorded with the engine running to the Low Fuel Pressure Sensor value currently shown on the Techstream.

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the fuel pressure sensor (for low pressure side).

  4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P107B) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs 

    5. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    7. Turn the Techstream on.
    8. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Utility

    9. Start the engine and warm it up.
    10. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in the Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    11. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.

    12. Input the DTC: P107B.
    13. Check the DTC judgment result.

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE FUEL PUMP DUTY) 
    1. Install the fuel pressure gauge (for low pressure line of low pressure side).

      Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 2

    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump Duty / Data List / Low Fuel Pressure Sensor.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

      Control the Fuel Pump Duty
      Data List Display
      Low Fuel Pressure Sensor
    6. Compare the values in the Data List using the Techstream and the fuel pressure gauge when the Active Test was performed.

    1. Check around and beneath the vehicle for fuel leaks, fumes, etc.

  7. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE FUEL PUMP DUTY) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Put the engine in INSPECTION MODE (maintenance mode).
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump Duty.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

      Control the Fuel Pump Duty
    6. Check whether the fuel pump operating sound occurs when performing the Active Test on the Techstream.

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE FUEL PUMP DUTY) 
    1. Discharge the fuel pressure.

      HINT: 

      DTCs may be stored during this inspection. Check for DTCs and clear them using the Techstream.

      1. Remove the FUEL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
      2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
      4. Turn the Techstream on.
      5. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

      6. Start the engine.
      7. After the engine has stopped on its own, turn the power switch off.
      8. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      10. Crank the engine again and make sure that the engine does not start.

    3. Read the value displayed on the Techstream when the Active Test was performed.

      HINT: 

      Once the fuel pressure becomes high, the fuel pressure will not decrease, even when switched from High to Low. Therefore, make sure that the fuel pressure is low before checking that the fuel pressure changes when switching from Low to High.

    3. Read the value displayed on the Techstream when the Active Test was performed.

      Low 50 kPa (gauge) [7.253 psi (gauge)] or higher
      High 500 kPa (gauge) [72.525 psi (gauge)] or higher

      HINT: 

      Once the fuel pressure becomes high, the fuel pressure will not decrease, even when switched from High to Low. Therefore, make sure that the fuel pressure is low before checking that the fuel pressure changes when switching from Low to High.

    4. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

    9. Start the engine and warm it up.
    10. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in the Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    11. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Utility 

      Tester Display
      All Readiness
    12. Input the DTC: P107B.
    13. Check the DTC judgment result.
