DTC B1570: Manual (SOS) Switch Red Indicator Malfunction [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs.

      Refer to HEALTH CHECK [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      DTC B1570, B1571 and B15C5 are output A
      DTC B1570 is output
      (DTC B1571 and B15C5 are not output)      		 B

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (RED INDICATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Assembly)
    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 22 (IND1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 19 (GND3) of the map light assembly connector.
    4. Check if the illumination for the manual (SOS) switch red indicator comes on.

      OK

      Red indicator comes on.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F35 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the S1 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F35-26 (SIG-) - S1-19 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      F35-26 (SIG-) or S1-19 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F35-11 (IND1) - S1-22 (IND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F35-11 (IND1) or S1-22 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    NEXT 

  5. PERFORM PRL UPDATE 
    1. Perform "PRL UPDATE".

      Refer to PRL UPDATE [12/2013 - ]

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [12/2013 - ] 

  6. CHECK MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH RED INDICATOR CONDITION) 
    1. Confirm the red indicator status after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

      Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [12/2013 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Red indicator remains off A
      Red indicator remains on B

  7. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (RED INDICATOR INPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

      (Map Light Assembly)
    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal S1-22 (IND1), and the negative lead to terminal S1-19 (GND3).
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

      0 V when the engine switch is off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  8. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (RED INDICATOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

      *a Component with harness connected
      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))
    2. Connect the positive lead of a voltmeter to terminal F35-11 (IND1), and the negative lead to body ground.
    3. Measure the voltage.

      Standard

      1.0 to 8.5 V for 2 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

      0 V when the engine switch is off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  2

    NG

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - 11/2016] Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  10. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

  11. PERFORM PRL UPDATE 
    1. Perform "PRL UPDATE".
