DTC P0230: Fuel Pump Primary Circuit [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT RELAY (FUEL PMP RELAY) 
    1. Inspect the FUEL PMP relay.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPLACE RELAY (FUEL PMP RELAY) 

    Result:  1

    OK 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF FUEL PMP RELAY)

    *1 No. 1 Engine Room Relay Block and No. 1 Junction Block Assembly
    *2 FUEL PMP Relay
    1. Remove the FUEL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode).

      Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [02/2014 - 11/2016]

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Inspection Mode
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (FUEL PMP relay terminal) - Body ground READY ON (Cranking) 11 to 14 V
      2 (FUEL PMP relay terminal) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 0 to 3 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    CHECK FUEL PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT. Refer to  Fuel Pump Control Circuit [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL PMP RELAY - ECM) 
    1. Remove the FUEL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (FUEL PMP relay terminal) - A43-29 (FPR) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (FUEL PMP relay terminal) or A43-29 (FPR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
