Removal [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2013 - ] 

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2016 - ]

  4. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  5. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]

  6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  8. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    See step  7 , or see step  7 , or see step  7

  11. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  8 , or see step  8 , or see step  8

  12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    See step  10 , or see step  10 , or see step  10

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides, and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  15. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 guides, and remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH as shown in the illustration.

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <D>.

    2. Disengage the claw, clip and guide.

    3. Disengage the connector clamp.
    4. Disconnect each connector to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  18. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt <B>.

    2. Disengage the 10 claws and 4 clips.

    3. Disconnect each connector to remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
  20. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws and 3 guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY (for 12 Speakers) 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides to remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.

  22. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 12 Speakers) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  23. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL WITH AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 17 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the connector clamp.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel with air conditioning control assembly.
  24. REMOVE CENTER UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Disengage the 8 claws and guide as shown in the illustration to remove the center upper instrument cluster finish panel.

  25. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws and guide as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.

  26. REMOVE NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws and guide as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly.

  27. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Radio and Display Type)

  28. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Navigation Receiver Type)

  29. REMOVE CLOCK ASSEMBLY

  31. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect each connector to remove the No. 2 switch hole base.
  32. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 screws <D> and clip.

    3. Disengage the claw and 4 guides, and remove the front No. 2 console box insert as shown in the illustration.

  33. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <D> and 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the claw and 4 guides, and remove the console box insert as shown in the illustration.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  35. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  36. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  37. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  38. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  39. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  40. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 guides, and remove the instrument panel finish panel end RH as shown in the illustration.

  41. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  42. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Open the lower instrument panel sub-assembly door.
    2. Remove the 3 screws <D>.

    3. Close the lower instrument panel sub-assembly door.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts <B>.

    5. Disengage the 3 clips and guide as shown in the illustration.

    6. Disconnect each connector and remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
  43. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ORNAMENT 
    1. Disengage the 8 claws and 6 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the instrument cluster finish panel ornament.

  44. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL END 
    1. Disengage the 11 claws and 3 guides, and remove the instrument cluster finish panel end as shown in the illustration.

    2. w/ Illumination
      1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
  45. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE 
    1. Remove the 5 screws <D>.

    2. Disengage the 6 claws and 3 guides, and remove the instrument panel finish plate as shown in the illustration.

  46. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 3 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

  47. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE 
    1. w/o Smart Key System:
      1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the No. 1 switch hole base.

    2. w/ Smart Key System:
      1. Disengage the 4 claws.

      2. Disconnect the connector to remove the No. 1 switch hole base.
  48. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts <C>, 2 screws <D> and 2 nuts <E>.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect each connector and remove the center lower instrument panel finish panel.
  49. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  50. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the room temperature sensor.

      *1 Room Temperature Sensor - -
    2. Disconnect each connector.
    3. Remove the screw <D>.
    4. Disengage each clamp.
    5. Remove the 6 bolts <C>, 2 bolts <A> and nut <E>.

    6. Remove the 2 clips.
    7. Disengage the 5 guides and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
      • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
