Removal [06/2017 - 09/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for TMC Made) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 09/2019]

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for TMMK Made) 

    for Manual Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

    for Power Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for TMC Made) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 09/2019]

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for TMMK Made) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    for Manual Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

    for Power Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

  6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 09/2019]

  7. DISCONNECT REAR CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Fold Down Seat Type) 

    for TMC Made: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  8. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY 

    for TMC Made Fold Down Seat Type: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

    for TMMK Made Fold Down Seat Type: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

    for TMMK Made Fixed Seat Type: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK 

    for Fold Down Seat Type: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

    for Fixed Seat Type: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  11. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    HINT: 

    Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH to the extent that allows the removal of the lower center pillar garnish LH.

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  14. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    HINT: 

    Disconnect the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH to the extent that allows the removal of the lower center pillar garnish LH.

  15. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  16. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  18. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  19. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH to the extent that allows the removal of the lower center pillar garnish RH.

  20. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  21. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Disconnect the rear door opening trim weatherstrip RH to the extent that allows the removal of the lower center pillar garnish RH.

  22. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2018 - 09/2019]

  23. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32

  24. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL PAD 

    for A25A-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  25. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL 

    for A25A-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

    for 2GR-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  26. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CAUTION PLATE COVER (for TMC Made) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  27. DISCONNECT FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Dual Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  29. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Push down the part (A) in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to release the lock, and then move the lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration to disconnect the connectors.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      *a Lock Lever
      Release the lock (1)
      Disconnect the connector (2)
    4. Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor assembly.
