DTC U0100-87: Lost Communication with ECM/PCM "A" Missing Message [06/2017 - 08/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC U0100-87) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes 

    5. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC U0100-87 is output A
      DTC U0100-87 and other DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    B 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2017 - 08/2018] 

    Result: 

    A

  2. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM REGISTRATION. Refer to  REGISTRATION [06/2017 - ]
