DTC C1337: Diameter of the Tire is not Uniform [03/2020 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK TIRE CONDITION 
    1. Check the size and condition of all 4 tires.

      HINT: 

      This DTC is output when tire deformation or a difference in tire size is detected.

      OK

      The diameter and air pressure of all 4 tires are the same.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    PERFORM AIR PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT OR REPLACE TIRES SO THAT ALL 4 TIRES ARE SAME IN SIZE 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Clear DTCs 

    2. Start the engine.
    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more for 36 seconds or more and check if the same DTC is output.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Trouble Codes 

    4. Check if any speed sensor DTCs (vehicle stability control system DTC) are output.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    5. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC C1377 is output A
      No DTCs are not output B
      Speed sensor DTC (vehicle stability control system DTC) is output C

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2020 - 10/2020] 

    Result: 

    REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [03/2020 - 10/2020]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEED SENSOR - SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Disconnect the A34 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    4. Disconnect the A35 front speed sensor RH connector, A36 front speed sensor LH connector, u2 rear skid control sensor RH connector and/or v2 rear skid control sensor LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-21 (FR+) - A35-1 (FR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-21 (FR+) or A35-1 (FR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A34-26 (FR-) - A35-2 (FR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-26 (FR-) or A35-2 (FR-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-24 (FL+) - A36-1 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-24 (FL+) or A36-1 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A34-7 (FL-) - A36-2 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-7 (FL-) or A36-2 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR REAR SKID CONTROL SENSOR RH:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-22 (RR+) - u2-2 (RA+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-22 (RR+) or u2-2 (RA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A34-37 (RR-) - u2-1 (RA-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-37 (RR-) or u2-1 (RA-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR REAR SKID CONTROL SENSOR LH:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A34-39 (RL+) - v2-2 (LA+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-39 (RL+) or v2-2 (LA+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A34-23 (RL-) - v2-1 (LA-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A34-23 (RL-) or v2-1 (LA-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:

  4. PERFORM TEST MODE (SIGNAL CHECK) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Perform the sensor check in the Test Mode procedure.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [03/2020 - 10/2020]

      OK

      All Test Mode DTCs are cleared.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  5. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Clear DTCs 

    2. Start the engine.
    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more for 36 seconds or more and check if the same DTC is output.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output A
      DTC is not output B

    Result: 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020] 

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2020 - 10/2020] 

  6. CHECK SPEED SENSOR ROTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Remove the front speed sensor rotor (front axle hub sub-assembly) or rear speed sensor rotor (rear axle hub and bearing assembly).

      For Front Side: Refer to REMOVAL [09/2019 - 10/2020]

      For Rear Side: Refer to REMOVAL [03/2020 - ]

    3. Check the speed sensor rotor.

      OK

      No scratches, oil, or foreign matter on the rotors.

      NOTE:

      Check the speed sensor signal after cleaning or replacement.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [03/2020 - 10/2020]

      HINT: 

      • If the front speed sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the front axle hub sub-assembly.
      • If the rear speed sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

    CLEAN OR REPLACE SPEED SENSOR ROTOR

  7. REPLACE SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Replace the front speed sensor or rear skid control sensor.

      For Front Side: Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - ]

      For Rear Side: Refer to REMOVAL [03/2020 - ]

      NOTE:

      Check the speed sensor signal after replacement.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [03/2020 - 10/2020]

      Result

  8. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Clear DTCs 

    2. Start the engine.
    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more for 36 seconds or more so that the same DTC is output.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output A
      DTC is not output B

      HINT: 

      Reinstall the sensor, connectors, etc. and restore the vehicle to its prior condition before rechecking DTCs.

  9. REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the brake actuator assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - 10/2020]

  10. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Clear DTCs 

    2. Start the engine.
    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more for 36 seconds or more so that the same DTC is output.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output A
      DTC is not output B

    Result: 

    REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2020 - 10/2020]
