Removal [03/2017 - 09/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - 09/2019]

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly from the front seat assembly LH.
  3. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly LH to the rearmost position.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover LH.

  5. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly LH to the foremost position.
    2. Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the rear outer seat track bracket cover LH.

  6. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the rear inner seat track bracket cover LH.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

      Using a T50 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly LH.

    2. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly LH to the rearmost position.
    3. Using a T50 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly LH.

    4. Operate the reclining power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the upright position.
    5. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly LH to the center position.
    6. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly LH to the uppermost position.
    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2017 - 06/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 09/2019]

    8. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly LH connector under the front seat assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    9. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly LH.
    10. Remove the front seat assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
