Front Door Courtesy Switch Circuit [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

      FR Door Courtesy SW Front door courtesy light switch RH signal/ON or OFF ON: Front door RH open
      OFF: Front door RH closed

      FL Door Courtesy SW Front door courtesy light switch LH signal/ON or OFF ON: Front door LH open
      OFF: Front door LH closed
      -

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (LH OR RH) 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the front door courtesy light switch assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - ] ).

      OK

      Front door courtesy light switch assembly is normal.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (for LH) A
      OK (for RH) B
      NG C

    Result:

    Result: 

    REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J5-1 - 3C-15 Always Below 1 Ω
      J5-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] ).
    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3C-15 - MB-2 (FLCY) Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the F2 courtesy light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the D6 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K5-1 - D6-19 (FRCY) Always Below 1 Ω
      K5-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
