On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check speedometer operation.
      NOTE:
      • The combination meter assembly receives the vehicle speed signal from the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) via CAN communication. Therefore, perform the following inspection referring to values on the Data List of the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) because it is the source of the vehicle speed signal.
      • The Data List values of the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) are used for this inspection. Therefore, make sure to perform this inspection after confirming that no DTCs are output from the vehicle stability control system.
      • If the tire size or tire inflation pressure is not within the specified range, or the tires are excessively worn, the speedometer indication error will increase. Therefore, make sure to perform this inspection after checking that the tire size, tire inflation pressure and tire wear are in the specified range.
      1. Before starting the following inspection, check if brake control system DTCs are output.
      2. Check the values by referring to the table below.

    2. Inspect tachometer
      1. Connect the Techstream and start the engine.
      2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indication.
        DC 13.5 V, AT 25°C (77°F)

    3. Check LED illumination (LED check)
      1. Check the illumination function of the warning or indicator lights listed below when turning the engine switch on (IG).

        SRS warning light Warning light comes on for about 6 seconds after turning the engine switch on (IG).

        • *1: w/ Pre-collision System
        • *2: w/ Shift Paddle Switch
        • *3: Turns on only when the ECO Indicator customize setting is set to On.
