Removal [12/2012 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2012 - ]

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  7. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Detach the 2 clamps from the front seatback frame sub-assembly.
      WARNING:
      • The nuts must not be reused.
      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and front seat airbag assembly LH.
