DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [12/2012 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2012 - ] .

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2012 - ] .

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1507 or B1508 output does not occur
      DTC B1507 or B1508 output

    Result: 

    DTC B1507 or B1508 output does not occur 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK: 

    Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 11/2013] or HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2013 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    DTC B1507 or B1508 output

  2. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      Result Proceed to
      No right turn signal lights turn on
      No left turn signal lights turn on
      One of the right turn signal lights does not turn on
      One of the left turn signal lights does not turn on

    Result: 

    No left turn signal lights turn on

    Result: 

    One of the right turn signal lights does not turn on

    Result: 

    One of the left turn signal lights does not turn on

    Result: 

    No right turn signal lights turn on

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. *: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the M19 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A41 front turn signal light RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the I8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly RH connector.*
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-7 (LR) - M19-3 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G17-7 (LR) or M19-3 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY.  Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. *: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N13 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A17 front turn signal light LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the J8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH connector.*
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-13 (LL) - N13-3 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G17-13 (LL) or N13-3 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY.  Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT (RH SIDE) 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal lights does not illuminates A
      Side turn signal lights does not illuminates (w/ Side Turn Signal Light) B
      Rear turn signal lights does not illuminates C

    Result: 

    B

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. *: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A41 front turn signal light RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the I8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly RH connector.*
    4. Disconnect the M19 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-7 (LR) - A41-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A41-2 (E) - Body ground
      G17-7 (LR) or A41-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK: 

    Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 11/2013] or HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2013 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A41 front turn signal light RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the M19 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-7 (LR) - I8-10 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      I8-11 (E) - Body ground
      G17-7 (LR) or I8-10 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] .

    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 10 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 11, and check that the light comes on.
      Result Proceed to
      Light comes on
      Light does not come on

    Result: 

    Light comes on 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK: 

    Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 11/2013] or HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2013 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    Light does not come on

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. *: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the M19 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A41 front turn signal light RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the I8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly RH connector.*
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-7 (LR) - M19-3 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      M19-4 (E) - Body ground
      G17-7 (LR) or M19-3 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH.  Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  10. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly RH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2012 - ] .

      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH.  Refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH.  Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

  11. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT (LH SIDE) 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal lights does not illuminates A
      Side turn signal lights does not illuminates (w/ Side Turn Signal Light) B
      Rear turn signal lights does not illuminates C

    Result:

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. *: w/ Side Turn Signal Light
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A17 front turn signal light LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the J8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH connector.*
    4. Disconnect the N13 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-13 (LL) - A17-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A17-2 (E) - Body ground
      G17-13 (LL) or A17-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK: 

    Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 11/2013] or HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2013 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the J8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A17 front turn signal light LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the N13 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-13 (LL) - J8-10 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      J8-11 (E) - Body ground
      G17-13 (LL) or J8-10 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  14. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] .

    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 10 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 11, and check that the light comes on.
      Result Proceed to
      Light comes on
      Light does not come on

    Result: 

    Light comes on 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK:

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the G17 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N13 rear combination light socket wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the A17 front turn signal light LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the J8 outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH connector.*
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      G17-13 (LL) - N13-3 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      N13-4 (E) - Body ground
      G17-13 (LL) or N13-3 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH.  Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  16. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2012 - ] .

      Result Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH.  Refer to DISASSEMBLY [12/2012 - 10/2015] .

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH.  Refer to REMOVAL [12/2012 - 10/2015] .
