Pattern Select Switch Power Mode Circuit [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) Refer to   2 

    B → Refer to   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) Refer to   3 

    B → GO TO DTC CHART 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INDICAT. LAMP ECT PWR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR.
    4. Perform the "Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR" Active Test.

      OK

      The POWER mode indicator lamp comes on or blinks.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      NG (w/o Multi-information Display) B
      NG (w/ Multi-information Display) C
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → Refer to   11 

    C → Refer to   13 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Pattern Switch (PWR/M).
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Pattern Switch (PWR/M) PWR mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF
      In PWR mode: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the PWR switch operation. A
      The Techstream display does not changes according to the PWR switch operation. B

  5. CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (PWR SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the combination switch assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L155-8 (PWR) - L155-3 (E) PWR switch being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      PWR switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Combination Switch Assembly)
    3. Install the combination switch assembly.

    NG → Refer to   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) Refer to   7 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect connector A57 from the ECM.
    2. Disconnect connector L155 from the combination switch assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A57-46 (PWMS) - L155-8 (PWR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A57-46 (PWMS) or L155-8 (PWR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Combination Switch Assembly)
    4. Connect the combination switch assembly connector.
    5. Connect the ECM connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → Refer to   12 

  8. REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  9. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2015 - ] 
  10. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2015 - ] 
  11. REPLACE METER CIRCUIT PLATE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  12. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  13. REPLACE COMBINATION METER SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ]
