DTC P3004-132: Power Cable Malfunction [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P3004-132 only is output. A
      DTCs shown in Table 1 are output simultaneously. B
      DTCs shown in Table 2 are output simultaneously. C

      HINT: 

      • *1: If any INF codes are output for this DTC, refer to the corresponding diagnostic procedure.
      • P3004-132 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → Refer to   15 

    C → Refer to   22 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read the freeze frame data of DTC P3004-132.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All of the following conditions are met:
      • Difference between "Power Resource VB" and "VL-Voltage before Boosting" is 50 V or less.
      • Difference between "Power Resource VB" and "VH-Voltage after Boosting" is more than 70 V.
      • Difference between "VL-Voltage before Boosting" and "VH-Voltage after Boosting" is more than 90 V.
      A
      In addition to the above conditions, "Batt Pack Current Val" is 3 A or more. B
      Other than above C
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → Refer to   17 

    C → Refer to   3 

    A → Refer to   16 

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FRAME WIRE (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY SIDE) Refer to   4 

    B → REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 

    C → CONNECT SECURELY 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FRAME WIRE (HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY SIDE) Refer to   5 

    B → REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 

    C → CONNECT SECURELY 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FRAME WIRE (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER - HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK) Refer to   6 

    NG → Refer to   18 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HV BATTERY HIGH VOLTAGE CONNECTOR) Refer to   7 

    B → REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 

    C → CONNECT SECURELY 

    A: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HV BATTERY Refer to   8 

    NG → Refer to   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK) Refer to   9 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. INSPECT HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (SMRB) Refer to   10 

    NG → Refer to   20 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. INSPECT HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (SMRP) Refer to   11 

    NG → Refer to   20 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2015 - ]

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  13. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output. A
      DTC P3004-131 is output. B
      DTC P3004-132 is output. C

      HINT: 

      Because P3004-131 uses 2-trip detection logic, the DTC detection conditions need to be met 2 times.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → Refer to   21

  15. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2015 - ] 
  16. REFER TO REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY PARTS. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] 
  17. GO TO DTC CHART (P3004-800). Refer to  DTC P3004-800: Power Cable Malfunction; DTC P3004-801: Power Cable Malfunction [08/2015 - ]  
  18. REPLACE FRAME WIRE. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  19. REPLACE HV BATTERY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  20. REPLACE HYBRID BATTERY JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2015 - ] 
  21. GO TO DTC CHART (P3004-131). Refer to  DTC P3004-131: Power Cable Malfunction [08/2015 - ]  
  22. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2015 - ]
