Drive Mode Select Switch Circuit [11/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)

  3. CHECK DRIVE MODE STATUS (NORMAL MODE, ECO MODE, POWER MODE) 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    2. Operate the drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) to change the drive mode.
    3. Check that the drive mode indicator is displayed on the multi-information display and changes according to the selected drive mode.

      Result

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2015 - 11/2017]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2017 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2018 - ]

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (POWERTRAIN DRIVE MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Powertrain Drive Mode Switch.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Powertrain Drive Mode Switch
    5. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control

    6. Turn the power switch off.

  5. INSPECT DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      F44-3 (DRV) - F44-9 (E) Drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) being pushed and held Below 50 Ω
      Drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Install the drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly).

      Result

    REPLACE DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F44 drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Reconnect the F44 drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the F3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the F44 drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Reconnect the F44 drive mode select switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    5. Reconnect the F3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
