DTC B1244: Light Sensor Circuit [12/2018 -]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

      Light Sensor Illuminance Light control sensor illuminance 0 to 8191 lx or SensorFail Value is output according to ambient light level -

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the G1 automatic light control sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the F17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      & Routing (G1, F17)

      G1-1 (CLTB) - F17-19 (CLTB) Always Below 1 Ω
      G1-4 (CLTS) - F17-20 (CLTS) Always Below 1 Ω

      G1-1 (CLTB) or F17-19 (CLTB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G1-4 (CLTS) or F17-20 (CLTS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G1-2 (CLTE) or F17-21 (CLTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    *a Component with harness connected
    (Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU))
    1. Connect the F17 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      F17-19 (CLTB) - F17-21 (CLTE) Power switch off Below 1 V
      Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -]

  4. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Inspect the automatic light control sensor.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [11/2015 -]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2015 -]
