Hazard Warning Switch Circuit [12/2018 -]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

      Hazard Flasher Switch Hazard warning signal switch signal OFF or ON OFF: Hazard warning signal switch off
      ON: Hazard warning signal switch on

  2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2018 - 08/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - 07/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 -]

    2. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2015 -]

      Result

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2018 - 08/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F7 combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      & Routing (Z1, F7)

      Z1-5 (TB) - F7-10 (HAZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z1-5 (TB) or F7-10 (HAZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Z1-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result:

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [11/2015 -]
