Vehicle Proximity Notification System Warning Message Display Malfunction [09/2016 - 07/2020]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the I3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   I3-9 (KIND) - Body ground	Power switch on (IG)	11 to 14 V

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

1. Turn the power switch off.
2. Connect SST to terminal I3-9 (KIND) and body ground.
   • SST: 09843-18040 
3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
4. Wait 5 seconds or more.
5. Check the combination meter assembly display.

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   "Proximity Notification System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" displayed on multi-information display	A
   "Proximity Notification System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" not displayed on multi-information display	B

Result:

REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2016 - 07/2020]

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2016 - ] 

1. Disconnect the I6 combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   I3-9 (KIND) - I6-5 (IND)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   I3-9 (KIND) or I6-5 (IND) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2016 - ]
