Fuel Lid Opener System Operation Message Display Malfunction [09/2016 - ]: Procedure

1. Disconnect the A31 ECM connector.
2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A31-24 (LSTM) - Body ground	Always	11 to 14 V

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

1. Check the input waveform.
   1. Connect the A31 ECM connector.
   2. Remove the combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) with the connector(s) still connected.
   3. Connect an oscilloscope to terminal I6-37 (LST1) and body ground.
   4. Operate the fuel lid opener switch.
   5. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
      1. Waveform 1:

         Item	Condition
         Tester Connection	I6-37 (LST1) - Body ground
         Tool setting	5 V/DIV., 20 ms./DIV.
         Condition	"Please Wait Now Opening" displayed on multi-information display

         HINT: 

         This waveform is output when the internal pressure of the fuel tank is higher than the ambient pressure when the fuel lid opener switch is operated.

      2. Waveform 2:

         Item	Condition
         Tester Connection	I6-37 (LST1) - Body ground
         Tool setting	5 V/DIV., 20 ms./DIV.
         Condition	"Refuel Ready" displayed on multi-information display

      3. Waveform 3:

         Item	Condition
         Tester Connection	I6-37 (LST1) - Body ground
         Tool setting	5 V/DIV., 20 ms./DIV.
         Condition	"Close Fuel Lid" displayed on multi-information display

         HINT: 

         This waveform is output when the fuel lid opener switch is operated if the fuel lid is open and any of the following conditions are met:

         • The vehicle has been driven for 1 km (0.6 mile) or more at a speed of 50 km/h (31 mph) or more.
         • 30 minutes or more have elapsed since the fuel lid opener switch was operated.

      OK

      All of the waveforms are output normally.

   Result

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2016 - ]

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2016 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ] 

1. Disconnect the I6 combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A31-24 (LSTM) - I6-37 (LST1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A31-24 (LSTM) or I6-37 (LST1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG
