DTC C1440-98: Unusual Bank Angle Detected [06/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2015 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the power switch off.
    3. Perform a road test.
    4. Check if the same DTC is output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2015 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1440/98 is output. A
      DTC C1440/98 is not output. B
      Yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTCs are output. C

    Result:

    REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [06/2015 - ]

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2015 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Clear DTCs 

      HINT: 

      • If the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) determines that the vehicle is being driven at a steep bank angle, the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) stores DTC C1440/98 while VSC operation is temporarily disabled.
      • This is not a malfunction if the system and sensor circuits are normal and if normal VSC operation resumes.
